Warriors: Steph Curry's Injury Progress Is Positive

Steph Curry’s Road to Recovery

The Golden State Warriors have been without their two-time MVP, Stephen Curry, since January 30. However, there is a renewed sense of hope in the Bay Area and among Warriors fans as they await his return.

Curry sustained an injury during a loss to the Detroit Pistons on that date, which worsened his right knee condition. He has been sidelined for the past 20 games due to patella-femoral pain syndrome, a type of bone bruising in his right knee.

Warriors team officials described Curry’s injury as “pretty much runner’s knee” and mentioned that he would be re-evaluated. Following this evaluation, the team released a statement on Saturday indicating that Curry is making good progress and is getting closer to returning to the court as the regular season comes to an end.

“The re-evaluation indicated that Curry continues to make good progress,” the team stated. “He has intensified his individual on-court workouts and, as next steps, he will be incorporated into live action and team practices in the coming days. He will be re-evaluated again after the team returns home next week.”

Warriors Struggling Without Steph Curry

With Curry out of the lineup, the Warriors have experienced a decline in performance. The team has lost 15 of its last 21 games and currently sits at the No. 10-seed with 12 games remaining in the regular season.

Golden State is set to wrap up their road trip with a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday, March 23. They will then return home for a series of games, including matchups against the Brooklyn Nets on March 25 and the Washington Wizards on March 27.

Curry, who averages a team-leading 27.2 points per game, is expected to undergo another evaluation during the upcoming week. However, he is not the only Warrior facing injury challenges.

Moses Moody’s Progress

In addition to Curry, the team announced that fourth-year guard Moses Moody is on the path to recovery. Moody participated in shooting drills and has made progress after suffering a sprained right wrist against the Los Angeles Clippers on March 2.

Moody was also re-evaluated alongside Curry. The team noted that he is making good progress and will be integrated into live action in the coming days. He will be re-evaluated again on Tuesday.

Facing the Atlanta Hawks

The Warriors will face the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta on Saturday. This game marks the first encounter between the Warriors and Jonathan Kuminga since the former player was traded to Atlanta along with Buddy Hield for Kristaps Porzingis on February 5.
