Legislature to focus on rural health dollars, policy in special session
BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – North Dakota lawmakers will be heading back to Bismarck for a special session tentatively on January 21.
The focus of the Special Session will be on allocating federal dollars as part of the Rural Health Transformation Program.
The state is set to receive more than 500 million dollars over a five year period.
Lawmakers will need to pass an appropriations bill and several policy bills that will improve their application score.
The committee chairman of the state’s rural health transformation committee is expecting the session to take three days.
