Friday night roundup: DoubleTree Roundball Classic at Science Hill
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Science Hill opened its week on the hardwood Friday, hosting the DoubleTree Roundball Classic with both the boys and girls teams in action.
The event opened with a girls matchup between Dobyns-Bennett and Elizabethton. The Lady Indians held off a late Lady Cyclones push to earn a 55-48 win.
In the second girls game of the night, Science Hill took on the Webb School of Knoxville. The Spartans controlled the tempo throughout, defeating the Lady Hilltoppers 68-27.
The Classic wrapped up with the boys matchup between Science Hill and Tri-Cities Academy. The Eagles took down the Hilltoppers with a final of 70-58.
Tournament games continue tomorrow with Dobyns-Bennett girls basketball taking on Knoxville Webb and the Science Hill Lady Toppers battling Elizabethton.
