Peter Attia Steps Down From Protein Bar Brand Amid Epstein Controversy

Peter Attia, a well-known figure in the field of longevity and antiaging research, has stepped down from his position as chief science officer at David Protein. This decision came after previously private emails between Attia and the late financier Jeffrey Epstein were made public, revealing conversations that many found inappropriate.
Attia, who is also a media personality with a large following on social media, expressed regret for the content of these emails. He described them as “embarrassing, tasteless, and indefensible,” and admitted to feeling ashamed about the situation.
The news of his resignation was announced by David Protein, the company he helped promote and invest in. The founder of the company, Peter Rahal, shared the update on X, stating that the company would continue to focus on its customers.
This development occurred just days after Attia was named as one of 19 new contributors to CBS News. However, this appointment has now come under scrutiny, with some calling for CBS to sever ties with him. Despite this, neither CBS News nor David Protein could be reached for comment.
The emails in question, which date back to 2015 and 2016, included casual and joking language between Attia and Epstein. These exchanges referenced Epstein’s “outrageous” lifestyle and even contained a crude sexual joke. The release of these documents led to increased public attention on Attia’s past interactions with Epstein.
In a public statement, Attia apologized for the content of the emails and acknowledged their negative impact. He emphasized that he was not involved in any criminal activity and clarified that his interactions with Epstein had no connection to the financier’s crimes.
Attia, who is 52 years old, is a prominent figure in the wellness industry. With approximately 1.6 million followers on Instagram, he has built a significant following as an expert in longevity and antiaging. In his statement, he acknowledged that the man he is today would not have written the emails or associated with Epstein.
