Trump Claims His Health Is Fine, Says CT Scan Shows No Issues

President Trump Addresses Health Scans and Public Scrutiny

President Donald Trump recently addressed concerns about his health, specifically regarding the medical scans he underwent during a visit to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The 79-year-old former president emphasized that there was no issue with his health and clarified that he received a CT scan rather than an MRI.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Trump expressed regret over the decision to have cardiovascular and abdominal imaging done, stating it “gave them a little ammunition.” He suggested that avoiding the scans would have been better, as their presence could imply something was wrong. However, Trump insisted that nothing was wrong with his health.

He mentioned that the imaging conducted in October was not an MRI but rather a less extensive scan. This clarification came after earlier statements where he had claimed to have undergone an MRI during his visit. Trump described the MRI as “perfect,” though he did not elaborate on why the scan was necessary at the time.

Medical Professionals Confirm Normal Results

Trump’s physician, Dr. Sean Conley, later released a memo explaining the rationale behind the scans. He stated that the imaging was conducted because men of Trump’s age typically benefit from a comprehensive evaluation of their cardiovascular and abdominal health. Conley referred to the assessment as “standard for an executive physical at President Trump’s age.”

Conley noted that the cardiovascular and abdominal imaging results were “perfectly normal” and that Trump was in “excellent overall health.” In response to the Journal interview, Conley explained that the administration had recommended a second physical examination in October to ensure continued optimal health. As part of this process, the team asked Trump to undergo advanced imaging—either an MRI or CT scan—to rule out any cardiovascular issues. Trump agreed, and the CT scan was performed. The results showed no abnormalities.

Conley also highlighted that Trump’s test results indicated “excellent metabolic health” and that his cardiovascular health was “14 years younger than his age.”

Ongoing Health Scrutiny and Political Context

Trump has faced increasing scrutiny over his health since revealing the imaging procedures. As the oldest president to serve in the White House, he has repeatedly maintained that his health is fine. However, questions about his health have persisted, especially after reports of his medical history and current condition.

The Wall Street Journal reported that doctors have advised Trump to reduce his aspirin dosage due to concerns about easier bruising and his ongoing treatment for superficial chronic venous insufficiency. These recommendations have added to the public discourse surrounding his health.

Meanwhile, questions about age have also surrounded former President Joe Biden, particularly following his performance in the 2024 debate against Trump. This has led to calls for Biden to step down from his re-election bid.

White House Defends Trump’s Transparency

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended Trump, stating that he “has nothing to hide” and praised him as “the most transparent and open president in history.” She contrasted Trump with Biden, who she claimed “hid from the press and lied about his clear physical and mental decline.”

Leavitt reiterated that Trump’s physicians and the White House have always maintained that he received advanced imaging. She emphasized that the administration stands by its position and continues to support the president’s health and transparency.
