Fond du Lac economic leader earns prestigious CEcD certification
FOND DU LAC – Sadie Howell, president and CEO of Envision Greater Fond du Lac, has earned the designation of certified economic developer from the International Economic Development Council, according to a community announcement.
The CEcD credential is recognized as the highest professional certification in economic development. It reflects a rigorous standard of knowledge and competence.
To become certified, candidates must complete a multistep process, including at least four consecutive years of full-time economic development work experience, completion of required core and elective competency courses, and passing a comprehensive exam that includes multiple-choice, essay and an oral interview.
“As we continue shaping strong economic opportunities for Fond du Lac County, this certification ensures that we’re not only acting with passion and purpose — but also with professionalism, strategy and a foundation of best practices,” Howell said. “I’m honored to bring this credential to Envision Greater Fond du Lac and to our community.”
Under Howell’s leadership, Envision has moved forward with clear strategic direction, including the creation and recent rollout of a five-year strategic plan built around aggressive goals for housing, workforce, business expansion, and talent attraction, which set the tone for a focused, results-driven agenda for Fond du Lac County.
