Jeremiah Raber, a former cast member of Breaking Amish and Return to Amish, has recently shared updates about his health struggles. The 45-year-old reality TV personality revealed on social media that he was “waiting to be life flighted to another hospital” and had “possible liver failure.” His posts have drawn attention from fans and followers who are concerned about his well-being.
In a TikTok post on December 30, Raber shared a selfie from a hospital bed, indicating the severity of his condition. He mentioned that his blood sugar level had reached an alarming 993, which is significantly higher than the normal range for non-diabetic individuals, typically around 100 after fasting. According to the Mayo Clinic, such high levels can be life-threatening. Raber also noted that he might be experiencing possible liver failure, adding to the gravity of his situation.
The next day, another TikTok post showed Raber being transported by helicopter on a stretcher. In a video from a hospital bed, he expressed gratitude for the support he has received. On January 2, he updated his followers, stating, “I’m doing good and will be out tomorrow!” This message brought relief to many who were worried about his health.
A History of Health Struggles
Raber has not been shy about discussing his health issues. In April 2024, he shared that he spent two days in the hospital due to heart problems and diabetic ketoacidosis, as reported by InTouch Weekly. Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious condition that occurs when the body lacks enough insulin. Without sufficient insulin, the body starts breaking down fat for energy, leading to the buildup of acids called ketones in the blood. If left untreated, this can result in a life-threatening situation.
Raber’s journey with health challenges highlights the importance of regular medical check-ups and managing chronic conditions like diabetes. His openness about his struggles has resonated with many, especially those who face similar health issues.

Raber first gained fame as a cast member of Breaking Amish in 2012. Known for being one of the most rebellious members of the show, he stood out as the oldest cast member at 32 years old.
