Warmer and calmer conditions into next week

Warmer conditions moved into the region today with windier weather this afternoon, especially across eastern New Mexico, where winds gusted over 45 mph in some locations. Overnight, a backdoor cold front moves into the eastern part of the state. This will bring in frigid air across the region Sunday morning with slightly cooler high temperatures Sunday afternoon across eastern New Mexico. The rest of New Mexico will continue to warm by a couple degrees.

Similar conditions will continue next week as a ridge of high pressure sets up west of New Mexico. This will keep our weather dry all across the state through at least the end of next week. Temperatures will also continue the gradual warming trend, with highs climbing 5º to 10º+ above average by the end of the week.
