First Flight Elementary School nutrition manager receives statewide honor
NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WAVY) — Patty Culb, the school nutrition manager at First Flight Elementary School, has been awarded the 2025 Mary Long Beasley Award by the School Nutrition Association of North Carolina.
The Mary Long Beasley Award is considered one of the highest honors given to a school nutrition manager, especially in North Carolina. This honor recognizes professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication to student wellness and commitment to excellence in school nutrition programs.
Culb was also recognized locally and statewide as Dare County Schools’ 2024-2025 School Nutrition Employee of the Year. She reinforced her commitment to providing students with healthy, nourishing meals daily.
“We are incredibly proud of Patty and this well-deserved recognition,” said Kelleta Govan, director of school nutrition for Dare County Schools. “This award is a testament to her outstanding character and professional excellence.”
