Trump stops trying to hide hand injury with makeup and resorts to double bandage
Donald Trump appears to have resorted to another way to hide his mysterious hand bruise that has been cause for concern these last couple of months.
Earlier this week, viewers who tuned in to President Trump’s cabinet meeting noticed that he was wearing two large band-aids on the back of his hand. For months, the 79-year-old has been awkwardly covering his hand in public or wearing thick makeup over what seems to be a nasty, recurring bruise.
After months of fighting off rumors that the bruise indicates a health issue, Trump has spent the past few days wearing band-aids, which appear to be his new way to try to hide the mark. The band-aids were spotted again on Friday, as the president attended the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw.

On Sunday, he presented medals to this year’s Kennedy Center Honorees in the Oval Office, where again, the band-aids were clearly visible. The bruise, which seems to reappear every month around the same time, is doing little to help Trump’s case that he is in “perfect health.”
The media has been speculating that he is undergoing some form of intravenous treatment once a month, though his team has refused to properly address the rumors, previously saying that it was from shaking too many hands.

Last Monday, Karoline Leavitt said that Trump had undergone a “preventative” MRI to analyze the president’s health to the full extent. She said that despite concerns, the president’s health remains “excellent.”
However, as the rumors about his health continue to circulate, the president appears to be growing increasingly impatient. When asked by a reporter what part of his body was imaged in the MRI, Trump brushed off the question, saying, “I have no idea.”
This week, AFP spoke to an insider who said that the comparison to former President Joe Biden, whom he christened “Sleepy Joe,” bothers Trump more than anything else.

“He is sensitive to being compared, even if not explicitly, to Sleepy Joe,” the adviser told the publication. “Especially if it’s coming from a reporter he already hates.”
On X, the rumors about his hand seem to be intensified by the new band-aid method. One user wrote, “Bruising is so bad now that thick makeup can’t hide it! Why isn’t it healing? Is he on a constant daily drip/ IV therapy for energy or to treat serious health issues and is only taken off to speak/fall asleep in public?”
Another user joked, “They use those bandages only on the healthiest people alive.”
‘Preventative MRI’
Both Trump and the White House have said the scan was “part of his routine physical examination,” but had declined until Monday to detail why Trump had an MRI during his physical in October at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, or on what part of his body. “I think that’s quite a bit of detail,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said last Monday when announcing the memo’s release.
Trump said during an exchange with reporters as he traveled back to Washington from Florida that the MRI results were “perfect.” Trump said, “If you want to have it released, I’ll release it.”
