AI and Stem Cells Shine at Reichman University Medical Summit
Reichman University in Herzliya is set to host Le’Maanchem’s annual medical-innovation conference on November 10, bringing together over 800 experts from various fields. The event will focus on the transformative role of stem-cell medicine and artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. President Isaac Herzog is scheduled to open the conference with a speech, highlighting the national significance of this gathering. Organizers emphasize that the conference will showcase groundbreaking work in regenerative medicine, organ and tissue repair, and AI-driven, patient-specific care.
This year marks the third edition of the conference, which is being held in collaboration with Reichman University. The event is exclusive, with attendance limited to invited guests only. Among the keynote speakers are several prominent figures in the medical and academic communities. These include Prof. Uriel Reichman, founding president and board chair of Reichman University; Prof. Ran Balicer of Clalit; Maj.-Gen. (res.) Yohanan Locker, chairman of Clalit Health Services; Prof. Jacob Hanna of the Weizmann Institute of Science; Prof. Eran Meshorer of the Hebrew University; Prof. Ayal Hendel of Bar-Ilan University; and Prof. Irit Avivi, head of the hematology division at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov). The event will be hosted by television presenter and actor Guy Zu-Aretz.
A central leadership panel will explore how to integrate AI into decision-making processes across Israel’s hospitals and health funds while maintaining the human aspect of care. Participants in the panel include Dr. Eitan Wertheim, CEO of Clalit Health Services; Dr. Michal Mekel, director of Rambam Health Care Campus; Prof. Eli Sprecher, director general of Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center; Prof. Orly Weinstein, CEO of Sheba Negev; and Sigal Dadon-Levi, CEO of Maccabi Health Services. Their roles have been confirmed through recent official announcements and institutional profiles.

Sigal Dadon-Levi, CEO of Maccabi Health Services, shared her thoughts ahead of the conference. “The AI revolution is not a future vision—it is already here, transforming how we diagnose, treat, and prevent disease,” she said. “At Maccabi, we are leading dozens of innovative AI projects in medicine, research, and service as part of our organizational strategy. Our vision is to provide Maccabi members with truly personalized medicine, more precisely matched to each patient’s needs and characteristics.”
Prof. Avivi will discuss how AI is expected to accelerate testing, speed drug development, and tailor therapies at the individual level. “It may look like science fiction today, but within a decade at most, AI is likely to become a routine part of physicians’ work and improve accuracy, efficiency, and clinical outcomes,” she stated.
The program will also feature a one-on-one conversation between Prof. Balicer and Israel Prize laureate Gil Shwed, founder and executive chairman of Check Point. This discussion will address the boundary between medical innovation and high-tech, as well as the limits of AI in care.
Beyond the scientific and policy discussions, the conference will include a recognition ceremony for physicians and volunteers who served IDF soldiers and the Israeli public during the Iron Swords war. This segment reflects Le’Maanchem’s broader mission of providing volunteer-based medical guidance to thousands of patients across Israel.
Le’Maanchem founder and chair Yossi Arbelich established the conference to bring together clinical leaders and technologists around practical advances in medicine. At the same time, the organization’s president, Prof. Joseph Press, and innovation head, Dr. Gadi Neuman, help shape its medical agenda in collaboration with academic partners at Reichman University.
